Garage Conversion into Open-Plan Kitchen with Utility Room

This residential project in Holland Park, London, involved a complete conversion of an attached garage into a contemporary open-plan kitchen and dedicated utility area. The space was fully stripped back to its structural elements and rebuilt with new timber framing, insulation, electrics and ventilation to meet modern standards.

The newly created kitchen forms the heart of the home — seamlessly integrated with the adjacent dining and living areas. We installed a bespoke shaker-style kitchen with soft grey cabinetry, a central island with seating, and copper pendant lighting for a warm, modern touch. The design balances style and practicality, with extensive countertop space, built-in appliances and full-height storage.

To the side, a discreet utility room was added, featuring durable worktops, a second sink, washing facilities and clever storage solutions — all finished in coordinated tones. With high attention to detail throughout, this transformation demonstrates how unused or underutilised spaces like garages can be turned into highly functional, stylish living areas.
